What is the difference between a white hat, black hat, and gray hat hacker?
White hats are defensive and legal. Black hats are malicious and illegal. Gray hats fall in between—they may find a vulnerability without permission (illegal) but report it to the owner rather than exploiting it for harm (ethical intent).
